Hi,
Just found out about this site from a Posting on BogleHeads/Diehards Morningstar forum.
I am in this priced out category.
Unfortunately, the owner of the Townhome I've been renting for the last 4 years is trying to sell and get his profits and I have to move.
There is a very "short supply" of similar townhomes in my area in my current rental price range. I'm looking at paying $300-400 more for less townhome
So, it may sound "easy" to rent but "nice" places are not so easy to find for me. I've been looking for 40 days on CraigsList.org westsiderentals in the San Gabriel Valley Area: Alhambra, San Gabriel, Monterey Park.
So, when there are so many priced out renters there aren't many good places to rent. Since there is a greater demand, rental prices are rising.
The nicer places that are for rent are outside my price range.
So, I'm facing paying approx 3600-4800 more per year for rent.
So, I'm not saving as much in this market. Of course, this is no where near the cost of owning.
Your thoughts ? Am I missing something ?
